Event: The Maritime Mixer

With great blogging comes great elite events. I was fortunate to attend the Maritime Mixer at Generator in Auckland City. With great sponsors offering tasters of their amazing products, we sampled a range of delicious American sweet pies, Clevdon Coast Oysters, Puhoi Valley Cheese, and so forth.

Newcomers to the Auckland food Scene, Mother daughter team, The Pie Piper bring their American culture providing American Sweet Pies such as Pumpkin Pie, Banoffe, Kia Ora Pie, and Margarita Pies. All delicious and can be ordered online for pickup or delivery, or find them at the Howick Markets most weekends.

Puhoi Valley had 4 different cheeses on offer to try. We both decided that we would be buying the ‘Distinctive Blue’ from the supermarket. Very creamy but not overwhelming with richness.

My other favourite pick of the night, which I have had a few times, was the Salted Caramel frozen yogurt from Whites and Co. What’s different about their froyo is that its made with real products, unlike the chains which are powder based. Its a much better taste, so I would recommend them any day.

To aid everyones thirst, there were some great wines from Brancott Estate, Beers from Moa and the oh so favourite water company Antipodes.

It was great to attend an event supporting great NZ companies and their products and would further recommend them to others.
