It has been a long time coming. Working up to Christmas and organising last minute holiday plans, I bring a new blog post for the new year. Brunch has to be one of my favourite meals, and you know when you visit a cafe, you are looking for that meal that just hits the spot.
I had been meaning to check out Ozone Coffee Roasters last year after seeing them at the London Coffee Festival and also being from NZ I am a bit bias as the company and cafe are NZ owners.
The inside has a very chic industrial vibe with the kitchen open in the middle of the cafe. Your classic mushrooms on toast bring a something little different mixed with onions and topped with creme friache and emmental. I thought it was seasoned well and was a good portion size, I just wish the food came out a bit hotter. I think from watching the chefs serve up the food, the plates sit on the side for a tad too long whilst plating and heating up the plates could make a huge difference. My dining chum had a few more complaints however. He found the bubble and squeak overpowered the dish, and the pork cheek was a bit lost between that and the hollandaise sauce. However huge thumbs up for perfectly cooked eggs.
Overall a few hits and misses, but would return again and would recommend it to fellow diners.
