Burgers Burgers Burgers!
After spending most of my Friday evenings trying the next new burger joint, Burger Geek really got my attention with their menu serving up free-range meats, wagyu blended beef and sourcing their buns from local bakers. The Swanson, a deliciously tender patty and melted in your mouth with every next bite. Great flavours without being too technical or too much going on.
The Bishop, although a tasty burger to be honest it really had a McDonalds flavour profile with the mixture of the tomato sauce and mustard. Personally I am not a McDonalds fan so was not overly impressed. I think being a gourmet burger joint it would be great to see a different type of ketchup and maybe look at using a wholegrain mustard.
We mixed it up with sides – as they only offer shoe string fries instead of your usual fat chips or kumara chips – and sorry but totally not a fan of those. If you’re in the same boat or not do what we did – grab the mango habanero hot wings. A great fry on them, with mounts of flavours. We loved the idea of Mac and Cheese balls as most others do, but could use more seasoning or a side sauce.
Overall we were really impressed as the burgers were not something you can make yourself at home and a great comfort for your fatty friday night!
